Description

This was a chance spotting while I has looking at the flying masses that visit the bushes. I saw him move then chump at one of the stamens. It is Very small and I have no idea what it could be. It has the perfect markings to go through the bushy stamens unnoticed hasn't he?

I think it could be some species of Pug-moth caterpillar, worth a google. Looks quite a bit like the Sloe pug but too late in the year and the wrong foodplant!

Yes I had to look twice before I noticed that little caterpillar munching through the stamens. A wonderful clear capture.
