Description

I'm sure the response would be something like "Get some sleep, crewmembers, you've been awake too long..." With the Space Shuttle Program ending, I wanted to post a salute to the men and women of the Shuttle program, and a dedication to the fourteen crewmembers who lost thier lives on the Challenger and Columbia: Challenger: Francis R. Scobee - Mission Commander Michael J. Smith - Pilot Gregory B. Jarvis - Payload Specialist 1 Christa McAuliffe - Payload Specialist 2 Judith A. Resnik - Mission Specialist 1 Ellison S. Onizuka - Mission Specialist 2 Ronald E. McNair - Mission Specialist 3 Columbia: Rick D. Husband - Commander William C. McCool - Pilot David M. Brown - Mission Specialist 1 Kalpana Chawla - Mission Specialist 2 Michael P. Anderson - Payload Commander Laurel B. Clark - Mission Specialist 4 Ilan Ramon - Payload Specialist 1 The lovely lady is Billy for G4 from Illusions Designs. He has some gorgeous characters at very reasonable prices. Stop by and check it out! Billy is wearing the Morlock Vamp outfit by Ravenous - apparently no longer available in the RMP. The Space Shuttle model is an .3DS file courtesy of NASA. You can find a bunch of space / NASA related .3DS files by clicking here. Space background created in Photoshop by me. My first tutorial on blending 3D figures with photo backgrounds is now available in the Tutorials area. It's big - 11.7MB in PDF format. Check it out, and let me know what you think - hope it helps! I have 3 more tutorials in the works, along with several more renders, and of course the latest page in the Girls From TNA. Thanks so much for all your views, comments, faves and support! It means a lot!

AWESOME Rod!!!!!!!!!!! I was hoping you'd get to upload tonight! This Billy is VERY CUTE! Cool salute to the people of NASA and the shuttle program Rod, and very comical too. Great job with the background as well. I got Billy as my free gift last night after we spoke. Thanks for the reminder about the rewards program.

Very nice tribute. Yeah, they would probably tell them to get some sleep. She is very lovely. Nice outfit, too bad its gone. I find rendo gets rid of too much too fast. That is why I like Daz you get plenty of time to purchase their products.

This is a wonderful piece of work and tribute, Rod! As residents of New Hampshire, Christa McAuliffe is special to us. I don't think there is anyone here in the state that can forget the news channel recording her putting her luggage into her car and her little girl grabbing onto her, pleading for her not to go...it still brings a lump to my throat...and I still remember being at work and someone coming in and saying that the Challenger just blew up and all were dead...the whole office went silent and we were glued to the TV for the rest of the day. Brings back a lot of memories... But so many brave men and women went to space and returned...and then there are those who went on the mission, excitement in their hearts...only to lose their lives...hopefully they shall not be forgotten....

I'm very interested in your tutorial - cool you put something like that together... the economy sucks, and with the space shuttle program coming to an end, it feels like we just ran out of gas.

Now how'd she get up there? Quite a fun render Rod. Hats off to all those who have made the shuttle program such a roaring success. From what I hear the Chinese aim to make all the headlines in space in the future... A bit sad.

A great tribute to the Space Shuttle Program, Big Bro. I also saw the tutorial you made, I think you should think about selling them, you are definitely a great source of post work information. :-) Btw, where did you get that cool-looking faery wings?

So much available but you have to know what to do with everything. Congrats on excellance and taking the time to share your knowledge with us..
