Description
Thank you to everyone that has been looking through my gallery, and a very special thanks
to those watching me, and to those that gave one of my pieces a fav!
The piece is inspired by many things chiefly the poem Stolen Child by W.B. Yeats, especially this first two stances, the movie Pan's Labyrinth, and the *other world* stories of the centuries pas, into our very present.
Even modern science is starting to recognize just how much we don't know about
the universe we live in, and today's research in quantum physics is showing this to us, with
almost a slap in the face, at our arrogance for trying to push magic out of the world.
Some scientists even subscribe to the theory of many dimensions.
So whether the other world is a type of quantum folding that leads to another dimensions, a glimpse of heaven, or Shambala it is special place not for the likes of such as us.
I believe the other world is a place we can reach only briefly, and touch for a short time only. To stay longer
would be risking the lost of self and sanity, our brains just are not equipped to deal with the energies
of another plane. Only with physical death can this plane be our next step on the journey of our wheel.
A fairy holds out his hand and beckons you forward,
and the idea is calling to a piece of your spirit, and tugging at a corner of your heart where
the wildness of a child still resides. To be free, unfettered as the fae themselves. I have pictured him in jeans, to represent a more mordern approach to this fae male. After all the fae are reflections of what we bring to them, and today jeans would be more likely than a lion cloth of leaves.
Stolen Child (First Two Stances)
By William Bulter Yeats
"Come away oh human child
To the waters and the wild
With a fairy hand in hand
For the world's more full of weeping
Than you can understand
Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim grey sands with light
By far off the furthest roses
We foot it all the night
Weaving olden dances
Mingling hands and mingling glances
Till the moon has taken flight
To and fro we leap
And chase the frothy bubbles
Whilst the world is full of troubles
And is anxious in it's sleep"
