Description

Egypt was the first leg of our 3 months tour of Europe, a couple of months ago. We actually walked around the large pyramid. Took us about half hour, but was worth it to remember.

I have yet to find my way to Egypt; I've wanted to visit since I was a child--not as a tourist, however, but maybe as a teacher or an archaeological assistant. Things are a bit more difficult now. Things are in flux, and when I think of that, I think of everything these monuments endured! They knew how to build 'em back then, and even if the entire country implodes and is wiped from the map, they'll still be there, declaring the names of the Pharaohs that built them. There's a certain poetic elegance in that. And this image captures that. Marvelous work!
