This is the last shot I took before leaving Washington State. Taken outside of the room at Hawthorne Suites in Kent. I'd been trying to shoot this little guy (or some nearly identical member of the family) for about three days when I finally got him on the last day. I'm going to be away from Waszhington for awhile, both in the gallery and in real life, but I plan on coming back, in both. After my first vacation to the Seattle area I came back to Texas and dreamed (literally) of going back to Washington someday. In the very realistic dream I would drive up this enormous hill and then, cresting it, would see a sundrenched valley below and my friends would be waiting at a house on top of the hill. Also, there were some bioluminescent snails the size of basketballs, and Amanda Peet, but that's an unrelated matter. Anyway, I made it back and, once again, dream( figuratively) of going back again; there are still things left undone. Hiking some trails, hanging out on a beach, floating down the river to catch some bald eagles. Thank you, Washington state and its hospitable residents (Washingtontonians?) for a great stay and we'll come up from Texas to see y'all again.
