Description
I was of course fascinated by the monorail in LV,and I had to take a ride on it,knewing I was going to do a scene.
Here the focus is on the MGM-Grand casino,12.000 employees in 3 shifts,meaning 4.000 each shift and all is running smooth,a city on its own.on the left hand is New York and behind is MonteCarlo,a bit further up is Paris and Treasure island,we walked up and down the strip-the strip itself beeing around 4 miles long.
Now the Situation in the TDF looks fantastic
2 Schlecks in front then Cadel Evans,
This will be a hot trime trial as Evans is the best in this type of stage.
On the other hand I could say:
"ich bin ein Burger a Luxemburger lol,but Evans would be the first Aussie to win the TDF-race it would for sure give the aussie economy a boost in the cycling business,same as happened in germany in the 90s.
If Andy looses against Cadel no shame there,and as Evans is nearer to the and of the carreer than the younger Schlecks,I could live with Evans winning and let Andy Schleck try next year again,he has still many years to go and can win a bunch of titles.
And Frank Schleck in a strong year could also win the Tour.
I try to be fair to all the sides.may the best win .
My heart of course beats a bit more with the Schlecks.

Great view of the MGM. Did warn you that you needed comfy shoes to be able to see the whole thing. Like the dude with the camera and especially his pointed ears. Guess all kinds visit Vegas.lol

That guy with the pointy ears is Alex! He thinks he is a "retired" spy, and takes photos to stay "sharp" for his recall into service...which he is certain will occur at any moment. Matter of fact, "any moment" could have occurred within the last 35 years. Nobody knows what Alex really did, and how he can afford his retirement. Is he really an ex-spy? If you were a spy, is there anything as an ex-spy... unless you are dead? Good image, Rene!

That is so many people working in one place - the scale is fantastic to me. Glas to hear you are also enjoying the TDF as well, I love cycling myself and don't do enough ..... Always take my camera on my hols - never know what textures and scenery you can make use of later ;)

Very nice scene, Rene! I have walked the strip a few times in my life! It wore me out, even with stopping occasionally to feed the machines a few coin. Each major casino is so large, it seems to take forever just to get from one to the next! Thanks for the update on the TDF. I still haven't checked it out on the boob tube. Mea culpa!
