Here's a photo of a cement truck pouring concrete into the pump of a truck delivering the concrete to the work site below. There's a man on a platform on the far side of the cement truck. He has both a sound and a light signal and a walkie-talkie for voice communication so he can exactly control when to pour concrete into the pump and how much.
In the photo, the concrete flowing into the pump is clearly visible. The triangular thing the concrete is flowing into is the pump. The angled pipe is where the pumped concrete flows towards its destination.
The lower photo shows the pump truck. The pipe leading the concrete passes to the crane part which supports the rest of the pipe system. An apparently simple and very effective way of delivering large volumes of concrete quickly and precisely.
Enjoy!

Construction sites are a wonder. I recall walking through New York City years ago past construction sites for skyscrapers...wooden walls with port holes for sidewalk supervisors and construction workers at lunch whistling at girls passing by...your site looks much more professional. How did the old guys ever get the job done? ;-) Neat pictures of these big boy toys.
