Hello, I'm PunkClown...the one being held by the ugly dude...Good disguise huh? I used to be (a long, long time ago) a moderator at Renderosity, in the 2D Graphics Forum. Now my life offline is so busy that I only get a chance to pop by every now and then, but I still think of Renderosity as the first place I discovered like-minded friends on the net and realised the potential of online communities.BIOI started dabbling in computer arts what seems like eons ago now, when I invested in a Commodore Amiga 1000, it's still in working order, but has been retired for a while now. Traditional and Computer Graphics is a bit of a passion of mine and I have a bloated hard-drive and depleted bank account to prove it!
I have an online presence at notReality.org

Cam, Great composition! I like the way the hand breaks the frame as if the "viewer" is reaching into the image for the kite! You do a good job moving the eye around to the focus of the piece with your shadows in the clouds and the contrast with the hand/arm. I don't think you could've added anything else that would have increased the value to this. It's perfect! :) retrocity

Ahhh... very nostalgic piece, Cam. Good program collaboration. And I admire your multitasking abilities, too. :-)

Ahhh - the memories this lovely skilled render taps into - stirring the caldron of an era long ago vanished - the innocence and careless world of our childhood. I like you Cameron, had about 3 or 4 experiences with kite flying, and in retrospect, also wished for the more fancy box kite. Thanks for giving my mind a needed jolt to times of such playful moments when nothing mattered but the happy event itself.

Loads of yearning in the image and the comments. The faint mottle effect does give a slight tangabile feel for the presence of air. To have and to hold cannot be, still it is with us always. How's about getting the guys to try and create their own Fifth Element!.
