I've said a lot about the Debt Ceiling Debate in the last few weeks.
I really, REALLY don't think Washington is going to get its act together before August 2, the day the US will run out of money to borrow to keep functioning properly. Too much time has been wasted on talking and chest-thumping.

Since I moved Shion to Earth, I never explained her status as a royal figure. More work needs to be done, but Melani royals on her homeworld have taken a backseat to the Pesera Confederacy, an alliance of the former city-kingdoms.
It's a constitutional monarchy of sorts.
Again, I really need to work out the details of these things soon.

This whole debt 'crisis' is nothing but an act by the parties to discredit the other. The problem is not the debt and a possible default. There will only be a default if the President orders that the interest on the debt not be paid. out of control spending is the problem. The partys will not stop spending. There's too much power to be gained through it. And thanks for a new glimpse into the home world of Shion and friends.
