Description

Completing my collection of common birds... The Dunnock, Prunella modularis, is a small passerine bird found throughout temperate Europe and into Asia. It is by far the most widespread member of the accentor family, which otherwise consists of mountain species. It is sometimes called the Hedge Accentor, Hedge Sparrow or Hedge Warbler. Picture taken in Etel (France) in June 2011. D'une taille d'environ 14-15 cm, l'accenteur mouchet est un oiseau discret, assez terne, avec le dos brun foncé rayé de noir et la tête de couleur gris bleuté. Son ventre gris peut le faire confondre avec une femelle moineau, mais ses flancs sont également rayés de noir. Photo prise près de la ria d'Étel (Bretagne) en juin 2011. outrageously perfect I would say. The fluffed look indicating either a bit of breeze or perhaps low temperatures in the morning. Colors blend beautifully with the back ground and lighting.
