I am an environmental scientist. A large part of my career has been dedicated to scientific research into the structure of ecosystems and factors that affect them. Quite early on, it became apparent that certain mathematical iterative principles formed geometries that coincided exactly with those found in natural ecosystems. And by ecosystems, I do not mean just plants and animals. The same principles also apply to quantum physics, geology, meteorology and on up to the formation of galaxies. These relationships were championed most publicly by the brilliant mathematician Benoît Mandelbrot, the founder of fractal geometry.
To my mind, the structure of natural ecosystems through application of these iterative processes revealed not only the genius and subtlety of nature but also its incomparable beauty. Â

Walking through a bridge with pearls, beautiful lights on the sides, a fantastic atmosphere, a warm mood, night, rest, calm, everything is perfect, everything is beautiful. Walking on the purple V sign for peace.

A wonderful fractal scene and a great illusion. The purple lines draw me in but first I have to stop and take a long look at those fabulous lamp posts at the front. Superbly created.

As an Escher fan myself -long before "Inception", I might add- I throughly appreciate this work of yours. Each arch can be seen as both far away and close up, big and small. If one travels through the glowing road in the middle, one will experience a truly surreal ride. Very imaginative!

Truly wonderful! This is a fine land, full of surprising events, and yes so surreal. Love the guardians at the gate:-)

This is by far one of the most amazing results I've seen from a fractal. The optical illusion is so tight and well done all the way down the road. I do not even pretend to know how you achieve such dynamic control with Ultra Fractal, but I can certainly express my appreciation for your work. Seems almost fitting such a wonderous image would be used to depict the enigma known as the pearly gates. As you travel down that brightly lit straight and narrow road, right towardsw your target, due to the illusion, the closer you get the farther away you are from arriving. Maybe arrival is impossible. Wonderfully done Stan.

Outstanding optical illusion. Excellent way to get one's attention. The pearls are gorgeous and the arches are a wonderful way to hold them. A creative way to make one believe they are coming and going at the same time. Excellent work Stan. Looks like the Highway to the Pearly Gates is a long and beautiful ride.. The lights are gorgeous.
