Description
Hurst Castle sits at the mouth of the Solent with a view up and down the coast from the Purbecks to Portsmouth. The Castle was built by Henry VIII and was substantially upgraded during the 19th Century when relations with France were blowing hot and cold.
The view on this shot is towards the Solent Channel with Portsmouth and Southsea to the left in the distance and the northern coast of the Isle of Wight at the right in the distance.
Hope you enjoy my snaps and please leave feedback.

We stopped here about 30 years ago, on our way to the I.O.W. Great fortification as I recall....one I wouldn't mind revisiting....
