Description

Completing my “collection” of common birds... The Common Blackbird, Turdus merula, is a species of true thrush. It is also called Eurasian Blackbird (especially in North America, to distinguish it from the unrelated New World blackbirds), or simply Blackbird (in areas where it is the only blackbird-like species). The male of the nominate subspecies, which is found throughout most of Europe, is all black except for a yellow eye-ring and bill and has a rich melodious song; Le Merle noir (Turdus merula), ou plus communément Merle, est une espèce de passereau de la famille des turdidés. Le plumage des mâles adultes est entièrement noir et contraste vivement avec un anneau oculaire jaune ou jaune-orangé et avec un bec également de couleur jaune. En hiver, le cercle autour de l'œil devient plus brun et le bec légèrement plus sombre1. Les pattes sont brun-noir. Thank you very much for your comments on my previous upload:
