Description

Long time no post, eh? I built a new computer last week and it has the ability to set a custom boot logo. I thought a while and wondered what I had that I could use as a great boot screen, then I had an idea to do something new, and I ended up with this. The idea is that the circuitry lights up and begins to take shape, eventually resolving into Daru, eyes aglow with power. I thought about trying to animate it somehow, and I still might try something simple with it. I know some of you out there might be saying "Daru again?!", but hey this is my show and it's my computer! XD Rendering on it is significantly faster than my old one, which means faster turnaround times and/or fancier effects. Hi-res available free at my website, as always! Thanks for looking and especially for those leaving comments! For the curious, specs on my new computer are: Motherboard: ASUS P8Z68-V Pro CPU: 3.4GHz Core i7 2600K (overclocked to 4.2GHz at the moment) w/ Corsair H60 water cooler RAM: 16GB DDR3 @ 1600MHz Graphics: 1GB GeForce 460 GTX Still to come: Solid State Drive

Now that is very, very cool! And who in their right mind would complain about another Daru pic? The more the better, mate. Keep 'em coming! This just happens to be the perfect size for my screen, so I've "borrowed" it as my wallpaper of the week. Hope you don't mind. I am so drooling over your new machine. That is some serious power you've got going there. Can't wait to see what you crank out with it.

Well I definitely like this one, and I am also looking to upgrade as well, likely with the same cpu. Is it possible to get it stable at those speeds without using a water cooler?
