Description
A female Elasmucha grisea on Alder. On the dog walk today.
What a find for me! I have never seen this before, and it was pure chance I noticed it as they are quite small. When I called my friend to see it I couldn't find the same leaf again.
Not as sharp as I'd like but I'm still thrilled to have seen it.

What an astonishing shot. I've never seen anything like this...okay, I've seen the various reproductive bits of a insect's life, but I've never seen a mama-insect with her brood...um...brooding! And those eggs are marvelously crisp. I'm especially taken by the dimples on her carapace. Stunning. Superb! Just flat-out-perfect!

Her eggs are like little pearls .. jewels that she is hiding! A charming image, you should've saved it for Mother's Day, grins!!

Cool shot. Last I saw a ladybug with eggs but the light was to bad for a shot. Thanks for sharing.
