Description

Using two of Stonemason's City Ruins buildings, I rearranged the lower part, making new doorways, all in Photoshop. I altered the original map and modeled the doors, barber pole and fire hydrant. Obviously, it's not architecturally identical, but makes the point. Edward Hopper painted his "Early Sunday Morning" in 1930. I figured mine is an apocalyptic view some time in a dreary future, or just a neighborhood gone bad. If you look at Hopper's most famous painting, "Nighthawks", painted 12 years later, this section of buildings is across the street, in the background.

I hate to be picky but... the bricks on the ground and in the building(s) look too new to be worn or damaged as the case may be if this is like a run down urban scene... But what do I know??? It looks good.

Excellent job of updating the Hopper...and are those bullet holes in the frame above where the Barber Shop window used to be? Makes me think someone had enemies, LOL.

I have to agree that this is a great render. The textures look great. I want to walk into the scene and go find out what's in those buildings!

great concept and well implemented. you did a good job of making your own rendition of Hopper's palette and forms.
