Description

The Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), also called by a wide variety of other names, is a small passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. Males typically sing two or three different song types, and there are regional dialects too ! Le Pinson des arbres (Fringilla coelebs) est une espèce de petit passereau, partiellement migrateur, très répandu, de la famille des fringillidés. Le chant du pinson des arbres est une série brève, mais vigoureuse, de notes descendantes s'achevant sur une fioriture finale plus complexe, par exemple : "tchip-tchip-tchip-tchip-chett-chett-chett-chett-diddip-diddiooo". Il comporte de nombreuses variations (individuelles et régionales). Son cri à l'arrêt est un typique "pink-pink", bien audible, et au vol c'est un "yùp-yùp", plus discret. Son cri d'alarme est un "tseee" ténu. Son cri de rut, lui, est variable, allant du "ruit" au "pchuîît". Il fait aussi parfois entendre un "hweet" demandeur. Et lors des migrations les groupes lancent un "tchoop-tchoop" assez bas. Lorsqu'il chante (le mâle étant le seul à chanter), c'est le plus souvent du haut d'un perchoir élevé, ou alors d'une branche basse, d'un arbuste, ou encore - mais c'est plus rare - à même le sol. Il chante très souvent, une grande partie de l'année, surtout entre février et mi-juillet. Thank you very much for your comments on my previous upload:
