Description
Those who are familiar with my fairy series know my style is the rich, deeply saturated colors. The fairy series was all bright and shiny happy. Since my death experience in January, my 2D art has taken a darker road, filled with ghosts and lost souls.
I only recently learned that a woman I have been searching for, a lost love who I always thought was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, died tragically at 34. She wanted to be a special ed teacher. She got her teaching certificate the day she died. This is for her.
I tried some things here I've never done before. The way I get the colors and such, well, that's my secret, So far as I know, I'm the only one that does it like this. Let's just say it involves up to 100 layers and a heck of a lot of work. You also have to have a sense of where to stop because with my process, it's ridiculously easy to take it too far, too bright or too dark. And the nature of the process is such that you can't predict what each effect and each layer will do. You can't say I want it to look like this, and then make it look like that. It's more accidental creation than anything. Which is fair. I discovered how to do it by accident, so it's right it should be all experimental in nature. I don't feel I've mastered it by any means, but I'm pretty good.
