I'm sorry to hear about the sad news and she's definitely in my thoughts now, as are you. As for this image...it's quite touching and very, very emotional. I was drawn to the facial expressions and the POV is quite dramatic: it gives quite an impression of desperation and "smallness" as an overhead POV would naturally do. Fantastic and sensitive work.

A tribute full of compassion, Monica. Well composed and inspired by concern and love. I am a cancer survivor (prostate). I know that, if caught early, enough many cancers are treatable. I also know that if my parish had not been praying for me, I would have been dead four years ago. Prayer brought forward my operation by nearly six months, so that I had a chance. It was major surgery, but I am here. I will enter Angela in our local, monthly novena to St Peregrine. He is patron saint of those with cancer, or other life threatening diseases. I will pray for her family for they too need hope and assurance in the shadowy days ahead. I found it very hard to tell my loved ones, especially my elderly mother, that I had been diagnosed with cancer. I am sure that God blesses, in a special way, all those who suffer from such diseases. I leave you with this prayer: 'God, in His almighty love, always has as much strength and aid prepared for you, as you need'. (Mother Basilea Schlink, Lutheran Sisters of Mary)
