Description

Human starships in the "Star Vessels" universe make extensive use of remotely piloted and autonomous drones to perform many routine functions. The three most common types of drones used in deep space work are survey drones, rescue / repair drones, and patrol drones. The star-faring technology of Humans in the "Star Vessels" universe is somewhere between the "Sector General" universe of science fiction author James White and the "Pricilla Hutchens / Academy" universe of science fiction author Jack McDevitt. The designs and vision for the "Star Vessels" universe are definitely "retro" by early 21st century standards as they are based on science fiction illustrations of the late 1970's / early 1980's and science fiction novels form that same general era.
