Description
humans had been drilling in the deep when they hit a layer of methane silicates. the explosion released trillions of tons of methane into the atmosphere heating it up rapidly and changing the carbon dioxide and oxygen content. Billions died by the time the Quill came. They began to work with human DNA to create a creature that could survive in the new enviorment but success seemed far away and the humans were not appreciative of their efforts. Anyway, at least they didnt look so hideous anymore.
