Welcome to my little corner of Renderosity. I am interested in many things besides art, for example, languages. I read 15 languages, and I have 140 languages on my web site. I don't really write other languages, though, so don't be surprised if I leave a broken comment for you. :) Please feel free to leave me a comment in another language, too.
Prints of my art can be purchased at deviantARTBIOThese days, my entire life is gathered around art in some form or another. I have a bachelor's degree in art, which I chose so I wouldn't have to sit in a classroom all day listening to people talk. :) I got very serious about art after the last of our seven children left home. Prior to that, I was busy homeschooling them. Besides visual arts, I love to make music. I play piano, organ, recorder (a wooden instrument somewhat like a flute), and classical guitar, and I sing. In the past, I have also played gamelan (a gamelan orchestra consists of sets of tuned metal gongs and bells with a couple of drums, and originated in Asia in places like Bali), I rehearsed for awhile with the local balalaika orchestra, playing autoharp, and I have studied with Xochimoki, a Latin American native musical group. In addition to music, I practice the martial art of taekwondo. I have a second degree black belt. Concrete art for me includes pottery (I sometimes design my own glazes, and I especially love raku), a little bit of sculpture, needlepoint (I use fancy yarns and stitches and sometimes invent my own), macrame, circular weaving, and I draw in color pencil. I also like to design artistic web sites. I have a passion for photography, and I am slowly working my way through scenic sites in Arizona and neighboring states. In digital art, I make art in Terragen, Bryce, Vue d'Esprit, Ultrafractal, Xenodream, and Apophysis. I am trying to learn Mojoworld. In addition to my sponsor site, you can see more of my art at my professional site: Extraplicity. Prints of many of my images are available at deviantART.
Spiritually, I am an heiress to the wonderful doctrinal legacy of Martin Luther, and a joint heiress with Christ. Soli Deo Gloria.

Elegant is the word indeed ! What would I give to have the opportunity to hike in Madera canyon again... I'm impressed with the hand-held 1300 mm... is it a stabilized lens ? it must weight a ton ? I'm getting use to my 500 mm hand-held (well, for my next trip I bought a monopod...) and, as soon as I can buy the special connecting device, I will attach my Nikon to Marie’s birdwatcher's spotting scope (Kite KSP 80 HD)which will results in a heavy 900mm on a tripod.... Keep such beautiful birds coming, Pat... your gallery is one of the reasons why I keep my membership here... :~)

The stick is blurred a little. What GiMi said! Congratulations on catching the little booger, you heard him and started walking into the wilderness. If you can, what would be really cool is once in a while post the image of the close up (like you did) and then post an environment shot also (so that we can see what Madera (for example) looks like and see where the little booger lives. 1300mm, you must be a rock.
