Awesome and emotional shot. The title compliments the whole image immensley. It makes me think he just walked out of jail gates or something, the feeling someone would be having at that time is intense. Great shot- thanks for sharing! :)

Freedom to be as miserable as you want... Or taking the positive approach,... You appear to have captured the issue. Well done.

A forlorn and hopeless character, you have captured his plight well. I wish him luck.

I thought at first, "He looks so content." Then I read everyone's comments, and see that different people have vastly different ideas of this man's state of mind. So now I wonder ... just before I opened this image, I was conscious of feeling joyful, quiet contentment. Sitting here with my husband, happily retired, looking at photographic art, dinner dishes done, there isn't a thing I need right now or for the forseeable future, for that matter. I was actively enjoying a moment of contentment. So I open the image and think the man looks content. Is he a mirror? Is his affect so totally neutral that we project ourselves onto him? I don't know. But I look again and think, "Yes ... he is content, totally in the moment."

It may have been a long day for this gentleman and he is totally tired and relaxed - contemplating maybe another move ? perhaps even catching the last rays of the sun, before finding a bed somewhere to put his weary head down? depicting life - as it is - your speciality Nikolay, BB

Definitely a lot of emotion captured here. Love the b&w and composition. There's a story here just waiting to be told. Very well done!

I love the starkness of this image and the almost dreamy expression on this guy's face. It proves what I've heard: Heaven and Hell are the places you carry inside; they're not external places or literal situations. They're states of mind. This picture really illustrates that perfectly. I love the starkness and the almost blissful expression on the guy's face. This is a fantastic slice of life. I love the ambiguity of it; there's starkness and an off-center human focus; there is a story, there are many different and conflicting stories and all of them fit this image. Fantastic.
