Who says androids can't feel? Who says androids, when built, can't understand the thoughts and feelings of others? Whos to say androids don't feel sorrow for their master's passing?
This scene was actually inspired by 2 movies. One, obviously, was Bicentenial Man (spelling?) and more recently AI. Bicentenial Man for the sorrow he wished to feel for the passing of his original owners and the final scenes from AI where the boy is the last remaining proof of existance of the human species to the aliens.
All of this is my stuff. This is actually a prop I pulled off of Daz Michael's face as a mask (will come later) and the texture and bump map were mine from my attempt to create a mask in Rhino 3D demo downloadable here. I couldn't get the Rhino 3D model to conform around the character's head or body so I pulled the polygons off with the grouping tool and created this wanna be mask. The bump map is just the texture set into the bump map field. Lighting is from the Sister Collection. That's the only thing on here that I didn't do.
Post work was, as usual done with Photo Impact 6 by blurring the eyebrows, smudging the top to blend with the black, adding a noisey/blur layer, a high contrast layer and then finally doing some smudging on the cheeks to make the droid look more human like despite the rust, scars, wear and tear upon it's sorrowed face.
