My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I love seeing this place thru your eyes. When I was there, I wasn't taking many fotos; it's like being there again. This is beautiful!!

Like Beachzz I too spent a couple of hours in Sedona on our trip in May and I didn't get many pics. It was /is a lovely place to spend a while and this pic shows some of its beauty.

Oh, how gorgeous are those little lines of light on the step structures? And the edges of the fountain echo the lines...the water is a beautiful liquid counterpoint. You've done a truly masterful job here, Tara, absolutely stunning!

It seems, somehow, ancient. The fading light enhances the feeling. Splendid work.

Wow, it is little wonder that artists have flocked to the Sedona area over the past 50 years (population only was 350 in 1950),...it is all about the light! Particularly love the way the falling water catches the light.

This is fantastic, what a shot Tara, incredible lighting.

Wow, Tara! This is just spectacular! The way the sunlight and shadows play on the fountan and trees - you caught this at the perfect moment, my dear friend! Most excellent!

I love the shadows and the light, picking out only the edges of the steps. The colors are super and the whole thing has a sense of elegance that (oddly) reminds me of the Star Trek (Next Generation Episode) "The Inner Light"...the rather poignant episode in which Captain Piccard gets an entire other life with a family and all of that good stuff as a means of contact from a race that's been dead for thousands of years...but in that virtual life, he learned to play the "ressek" (a tin flute) and in the end of the episode, the alien probe that zapped him into the alternate, virtual life, stopped functioning, was brought on board the Enterprise and opened up, revealing a flute contained inside...I'm sure you know that episode. It's one of my favorites. Anyway, all of that is to say that this spot by the fountain looks like it could be anywhere on that world, and I almost expected to see Kamin/Piccard walking up those steps (or down) chatting with his wife Eline, or his friend Batai. Okay, I wasn't expecting to take a trip down Star Trek memory lane, but oh well. This is a fantastic shot!

Gorgeous lighting!!!

The lighting on this is just spot-on marvelous! I love the way it outlines the edges, with the stepped light grabbing my attention first, but then my eye moving on to the variety of the curving branches, rippled fountain, and the ghostly light of the rails. I like the stepped light on the wall, larger, and more regular, with the light reflected both horizontally and vertically, and the steps showing as dashes going across. I like the contrast of the regular lines of light coming off the architecture, and the free flow lines of the water and trees. Excellent! I love it!
