Description

Meet Geronimo, the most fearless creature I've ever met. I don't often name the Hummingbirds I tend to, but when I put up the first feeder here at my new home, this fellow quickly appeared. He defends his feeder against all comers, large or small. I've even seen him chase away Goldfinches, Sparrows, Mockingbirds, and once a rabbit! I would estimate his weight right at 3 grams, probably making him, by weight, the most ferocious animal in North America. Geronimo has been an inspiration to me, to fearlessly deal with all the life altering changes of the last few months. I hope I'm ready to start my new life now, and to once again share my passion for photography with you, my friends.

So good to see a post from you, Charles! I hope you're settling into your new home nicely and that things will go smoothly. This is such a wonderful picture of your new little friend! Most of hte time they are in motion, so to catch one perching is nice! I can't believe he chased a rabbit away!! Yes, I think he truly is, gram for gram, the most ferocious critter out there!! Beware that beak, LOL.

Glad to see you back Charles and hope all your days ahead are better! I missed hearing what was going on with you as I had been in the CCU at the VA hospital and have not been on line as much as usual. - Tim Love the shot of Geronimo! They are such beautiful and fascinating creatures!!

Hummers ARE fearless! I never knew that until I put out my first feeder. Ours would sit on the clothesline and guard the feeder from everything coming and going! This is a wonderful capture and your name for him is very apt!
