Description
A fortified church of german speaking settlers which immigrated to Transsylvania from the 12th century onwards.
These military farmers built fortresses around, to protect their country against looters.
About 300 villages were defended by fortified churches with massive walls.
But the time of the Saxons in Transsyslvania comes to an end now.
Numerous Saxons have emigrated to Germany, Austria Canada and USA.
Especially after the fall of the Eastern Bloc in 1989.
These wonderful buildings go to ruin....
