Description

aka, balistoides conspicillium, captured 6/21/11, on my second visit to the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific, in beautiful Long Beach, California. Better viewed via ZOOM. This handsome denizen suggests to me a rather bizarrely painted space ship. It seems to be whistling a happy tune. I liked this guy because he was just moving nonchalantly about, and not rapidly swimming in and out and up and down like his fellow fishies, ergo, a real pleasure to photograph under adverse conditions, which included screeching undisciplined gamins/urchins at my elbows and under my feet. In photo 3, I believe the fish below and behind the Clown Triggerfish on the right is a Semicircle Angelfish, but the color doesn't seem right for that variety, so I'm not sure. In photo 4, the fish near the bottom on the right may be a Bluebanded Surgeonfish, but I'm not sure on that one either. Ta-ta, thankx for the look-see, and for any and all favs and laudatory comments.

I LOVE your aquarium shots...you did a great job taking them under difficult circumstances. I hope you have a bunch more to show.

What a gorgeous fish! You got some wonderful captures here, excellent work indeed...and I know almost nothing about fish species. I like them all as long as they don't have teeth!

A super collage of this beautiful fish. Its markings are amazing and it is great that it only swam slowly for you to capture it. Excellent captures.
