Description

This tram is moving along Rua Joaquim Murtinho toward the downtown station of Estacio de Bondes. In the old days one hundred some years ago, the well-to-do that lived then in the upscale neighborhood of Santa Teresa used this tram to commute to their office jobs in Centro, the downtown area. The wealthy have long since moved to upscale neighborhoods in Zona Sul, but the Bondinho still operates. It is the oldest, still operating tram system in South America. Wonderful - the grayish foreground with splashes of color throughout the photo, the curving parallel lines of the tracks. Very nicely composed! Great job!
