Description

I've always found the juxtaposition of man-made & natural elements fascinating. For me, there's a kind of dynamic tension that it creates - maybe because I'm constantly questioning how humans can balance their love of technology with their love of nature...

Compositionally outstanding, and the colors are great. Balance nature and technology? I suppose we do it the same way we juggle our other passions. I have room in my life for nature, for technology, for love and learning and artistic creativity, for the ability to complete mundane tasks. Life is not either/or, but a combination of those things we find important.

To auntietk: It's not either/or, but there are conflicts. Ona societal level, the expansion of human technology requires natural resources & while it may be theoretically possible to achieve a balance, our recent history provides many examples of the over-exploitation & depletion of natural resources to satisfy the ever increasing demands of bringing technology to an ever-increasing human population. On a more personal level, what do you do with your time on a beautiful day? Sit at home on your computer or go out for a hike? Again, not an insoluble problem, but a juggling act. And I also have some concern for young children being raised in a very seductive, technological environment who may miss out on some of the pleasures of the natural world...
