Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

Oh, I love seeing dragonflies...we have quite a few around our koi pond and sometimes they are very friendly, landing on the edge of a glass, a drink stirer or even a finger. We always freeze and enjoy the beauty of these beings... Nice capture!

Now you're getting into Andrea territory. I've never seen a dragonfly of that ilk before. Kind of looks like a multiwinged bird. Great shot under the circumstances, Dana.

A super capture of this dragonfly on the wing. I can see why it is called a widow skimmer.

I really and sincerely love this composition - what is there not to like about all those reeds ? - and the bonus of this most unusual and gorgeous dragonfly ? BTW it's a new one for me ... ah, live and learn more every day, thanks for sharing it, Dana BB
