Description

...or sometimes things don't go according to plans. Anyhow, just to show that I don't always get great shots. And yes, I do critique photos that could always afford some room for improvement. However as is often the case in photography, there can be no rewards without occasionally taking risky shots. Originally I was looking for dragonflies and maybe some smaller birds to photograph when suddenly this large crane enters my field of view. There wasn't any time to prepare. Either I get the shot or I don't. All I could do was re-aim the camera and snap away. Unfortunately the auto-focus didn't manage to lock in this case and the crane just managed to get his face behind some of the foliage. Now if it wasn't for the unfocused image and the subject being a few inches off to the right, this could have been a very awesome shot. Composition-wise, many of the elements were there. Even though it's blurry, I'm sure you can see that much. I figured it was a 50/50 chance when I took it. Luck didn't side with me this time. But that shows just how it goes. Still worth snapping, even though this photo was a failure. Also shows the appeal of modern digital photography - no film was wasted. I'm sure the pros have many more failed shots than this even, but they rarely share those that head for the trash-bin. Besides, you can't find gems without digging through dirt. The moral of this photography story is to snap-away when the unexpected comes no matter what. In your case, you might be a lot more lucky.

I can't say it is a beautiful shot as above comment. I don't understand that they left a comment like that to be honest. I think she/he need a glasses. And yes I agree with you, also pros have bad shots. Included me. I see often uploads from pros with such a expensive gear with bad quality images. What I don't like is the high speed setting......so that you can make 14 or even more picture per sec. With good luck you have one cracker shot between it. To me it is to easy and I don't use that setting often. And to much clicks for nothing is a bad thing as well in my view. I think also here at RR there a lot bad images posted with a lot comment with ...wow, cool, superB and so on....so I think a "trash option" was a good new genre to put them there...I am just honest
