Description

These wheels belong to the cable car (maximum capacity 65) that hangs beneath and these wheels are running on the cables. The two cars that operate between two stations leave their respective stations at the same time, meet in the middle (each one on its own set of cables), and arrive simultaneously at the other end. The cables (as well as anything else) are inspected and replaced at regular intervals. This picture was taken on 20 June 2011, Sig.. Thanks for visiting!

Okay, I was worried until I saw the ladder, which gave a bit of scale to the whole thing. Whenever I get myself in a situation where I'm nervous about transportation, I remind myself of two things: 1) This thing has been running safely for a long time and it's probably not going to break right this minute, and 2) There's nothing I can do about it anyway.

the only cable car I have taken that was very high was at Albuquerque.many years ago there was a cable car system built at Monterrey, Mexico going up to Cerro de la Silla but it failed on it's maiden run killing all the engineers that designed it. the last time I was in Parque de los Heroes the bottom support was still there
