My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Interesting up to a point....!

Being an avid airplane buff, I love these shots. I try to attend every fly-in in my town so I can photograph the details of the aircraft. I also build model aircraft with as much detail as possible. Thanks for the greats shots.

Tut, tut, you could have been locked up for these pics back in the day.The Norden bombsights were removed between missions and kept under 24 hr guard in blast proof storage, they were that secret.Manufactured by the 'Victor Adding Machine Company', the bomb aimer could destroy the target and calculate his wages at the same time :-) Excellent set of pics Tara, very detailed and interesting to me, but then all your images are.....thanks..

I appreciate the abstract quality, especially the curves in the first frame. I presume that is an arc of ammo. It must have been deafening when firing those guns in such close quarters.

Plane nuts or plain nuts? There is always something compelling about relics from my father's war. Excelent detail. Wonderful collection of images.

Well, while the subject matter might not be to my taste your shots as always are lovely. And there is still some abstraction to them, given that it's pieces and not the whole ;)

Oooo, the detail...scrumptious. And posting these all together in a fascinating collection really does it for me. So sharp, clear and crisp! Simply put, I'm jealous:)

very interesting technical pictures of the machinary of war. If not tried yet, you can use a polarization filter to try to get rid of reflection on the glass (if wanted).

I see stuff like this and I occasionally find myself slipping into some variation of George Lucas' Star Wars universe. It's amazing what references you'll find there: right down to royal starships that look and sound suspiciously like B-52 bombers, hover tanks full of droids that look suspiciously like Nazi tanks rolling into Paris, though they're actually rolling into...well...um...an interplanetary recreation of Paris on the day Nazi tanks rolled into it, and so I can say that this series of shots works on so many different levels. I love the details and colors in each of them, and the whole weird feeling I get from looking at Star Wars source material. These are excellent and I love that there's something for everybody in these shots and in this whole series. This is good stuff!
