Description

A friend saw my village digital art paintings and commissioned a painting of his house in a similar style. Here it is, it took 6 hours. I will print it on heavyweight matte photo paper A3 size, mount it but no frame. What do you think would be a reasonable fee? It's a genuine commission, i want a reasonable fee but do not want to appear greedy as it's friend. Any ideas would be welcome?

Gee, Toulouz, after carefully scrutinizing this image (and being a zillion times more than 'suitably impressed')... I would settle for nothing less than his first born. Unless of course you are, like W. C. Fields, not all that enamoured of children... in which case I would think something between $500 and $1000 would be a reasonable.. if not altogether 'gift' price.... :)

Excellent Toulouz. I think $750 is certainly within the area. I have a friend who is a landscape artist. She just draw the layouts, etc. and she gets in the thousands for her work. You might do a search on the Internet of commissioned Digital Art and see if you can come to some kind of price that way. It's a great drawing. Whatever you do, don't sell yourself short.

the painting is superb and probably even better at large size,- that's what they want, a 48x66 inch (1.5mx2m) giclee print that'll cost, all by itself USD$700 ... so go ahead charge $1000 and keep trying, but be forewarned, it's hard out there.
