this feels strangely airier than some of your works, and I've noticed this in some of the other healing works as well. It's fitting that it wouldn't be as dense as the "introductory" painting in this series (with the 7 chakras in their progression from root to top), because you're showing a state of freedom & reaching for the light, as a result of tapping chakric essences. The waterfall (of hue) at top is of course what hits one first when viewing the top of the painting; but, at closer, inspection there's so much sympathetic vibration happening around it...ie, those falling luminous-green boughs, which look like tree-boughs (weeping willows) but which could as easily be light-boughs, and they're sumptuous. You also have parallel light-falls across the upper spectrum, paralleled through the foliage & flowers that almost 'frame' the piece & are present especially in the lower half of the painting. They're very clearly flora, but they also seem to grow out of the chakric journey itself. (In meditation, the flower becomes a metaphor for the whole cosmos, unraveling 'into' the cosmos, but also devolving into the seed, going back & forth w/ all its furls and convolutions like a big fragrant visualization of creation itself...again, Georgia O'Keeffe comes to mind). Then the woman in the center is held-up by a lotus I presume; again the symbol of our human-hood because it comes from the swamp but reaches the heavens. And of course for its deep & rich petals. (You probably know that many representations of Buddha shaped his eyelids like the lotus petal, because what we see inside is as opulent as the petals of a magnificent flower.) Then the rainbow seems to go right to her heart---but then it could go out of her heart as well. And the whole painting seems composed by intuition, though you may have spent time choosing & composing. Still, the final result is intuitive rather than constructed; and it glows with a sense of total 'greeness', total verdancy, filled with the hue of life, from which all other hues seem to emanate. Again, a very sensuous evocation of the chakric journey, with her reaching rather than sitting still, the stillness understood rather than shown. In meditation, we acquire (internally) multiple limbs, moving constantly & reaching into the cosmos & creating new worlds. So this chakric journeyor emanates from the inner rather than the outer journey. A lot of chakric representations show the journeyor sitting still as stone, and we're left to imagine how much they must be traversing inside themselves. Another sensitive & beautiful painting of the chakric journey...
