Description

Taking a break from Photography to take care of some of life’s road bumps. Finding this is taking longer than I had anticipated I made the opportunity to shot at the Wichita Wildlife Refuge and couple of other places in the last two weeks. The temps. here have been extremely hot over 100 degrees for the past 50+ days and counting. Add to that the drought and wild fires have taken there toll on the national and state parks here in Oklahoma. Fortunately and in spite of the conditions the Wichita Wildlife Refuge still draws you in to photograph it’s rugged beautify, you just have to work a little harder to find your shots. Trails were closed due to heat lakes were extremely low and wild fires had ravaged parts of the park, spent most of two days there and realized how bad I had missed the sound of my shutter. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by, hope all my rendo. friends are doing well. I’ve tried to take the time to view your work when I can not much time to comment though, hope that will change soon.

Been missing your avatar...and of course your photography:) My daughters in Kansas have kept me informed of the rugged days this summer...since relocating to the Pacific Northwest in May 2010, I've been sparred the heat. Ahhhh... The Wichita Wildlife Refuge must be a very special place...looks like the moon with a lake about now.

I do like the way you put it "road bumps"... hehe... that's a great analogy for it, though at times, at least for me they seem like ginormous hills, if there is such an expression :) I'm glad however, that you posted this beauty. In spite of the lack of rain, and heat it does look beautiful and the water that is there looks so fantastically blue. I could just sit at the edge there for hours and think.... I hope everything works out for you, and you will be in my thoughts!
