Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Jocko may have figured it out. Strange buildings and very long. What town were you near? I do like the reflection on the glass too! Dana

They blend right in with the hills which may be the point. The reflections add an approproate ghostly touch.

Love the shape of the hills, the shape of the bunkers, and the shape of the fence. Excellent image!

You have now entered the twilight zone. Bizarre is the word that comes instantly to mind, M.

My kind of place:) I think I know the place...it was near there that our Garmin took us to two non-existant gas stations. One had been completely abandoned 4-5 years ago (realy a wierd place-like a ghost town gas station) and the second was an empty space that never had any kind of a building on it ever (best we could tell). Harry's right...Twilight Zone stuff.

Hey, this looks like you passed Area 52; It doesn't get nearly as much attention as Area 51, primarily because Area 51 is the decoy that keeps people from wandering a couple of miles down the street to Area 52, where they keep all of those...um...things. Okay, enough of that! I often wonder about those odd little flights of fancy my brain launches itself on whenever I'm supposed to be making a comment that makes some kind of sense. I love the paranormal look of this shot and it does have an ominous feel to it; well, maybe not ominous, but definitely like we're on the threshold of a "realization event" when...well...when strange things begin to happen and cause things to click into place in a way that totally changes everything...kinda like an X-Files moment when you realize that alien technology really isn't compatible with Windows 7. And speaking of windows (the glass kind) I love the eerie reflections in this and the overall sense of color. This actually reminds me of a screen shot from a tv show I doubt many people have even seen. It was a hokey piece of...something, called "Project: UFO" and it was about...well...Project Blue Book. The one episode I remember took place in an area that looked like this (Maybe it was filmed up the road?) and...well...I remember those oddly LEGO-sorts of UFOs taking off and zooming by with awful 1970s-era sound effects. I love that this shot recalled that particular fond memory.
