Description
The disgrace of Antwerp.
stock exchanges
19th Century
Neo-Gothic
Built in 1872
Twaalfmaandenstraat
2000 Antwerp
The stock exchanges'handelsbeurs' is a remain of the golden century. In the 16th century Antwerp
was an important international trade center.
The London Stock exchange is a copy of this
building because Sir Thomas Gresham saw
the building in Antwerp.
Reconstructed in 1872. The original building, 'the mother of all exchanges' dated from 1531.
7 years neglect for people of Antwerp and tourists. A disgrace of the city of Antwerp.

Stellar collage. This is really outstanding and the pieces fit together perfectly to give an eerie and intriguing manipulation.

Yes, it's a shame. Here in Heidelberg they give out a lot of money for restoration. Although your collage superb!!

This is no way to treat such a beautiful building and such a historically important one. Seeing the rubbish and the rough patching on the door is heartbreaking. Your collage is a powerful message against this situation. I hope someone with means becomes interested in the building's fate.
