I hope you don't mind but I'm going to try to give some constructive advise rather than the usual "lovely scene" type comments? There are some elements here that work well (eg. the water) and you are clearly ambitious in the scope of your scenes, but some other elements still need some work - the background "bank" looks too artificial and I feel it needs better lighting. This last point can make a huge difference to the realism of your images (not to mention a large increase in render times - that is the price we pay!). I'm not familiar with Bryce's lighting but I'm sure it will have some global illumination or skylighting or indirect lighting? The terms for it vary, but using this will pay dividends in the long run. Good luck on your 3D journey - you have made a great start!

I like the people/wolf a lot. I like the way they fit into their environment, their poses. The hair and light on it is fantastic. I find it very hard to do good hair - you've nailed it. Like Phil says, you are taking on a lot all at once and I think that you will make a lot of progress very fast. You have energy and talent. My crits... your figures have lots of light and shadow. The ground seems bland and without detail in comparison, particularly it's lighting. Get shadows in there! Perhaps with off-image trees casting shadows onto the scene (a tree between the ground and the sun but out of the camera's view). Also, the bright blue of the water doesn't work. Consider some post-processing to remove the extreme color from the water. The water ultimately needs to be the same color as the sky and ground around it with just hints of a different color. You made the sky grey, so things would fit better if the water was also grey. Anyway, sorry for all the rambling!! Take my opinions with a grain of salt - I'm as much wrong as I am right (but food for thought) Keep at it, I'm eager to see your next one. We learn from each other. I agree with you - second images don't always get better - but they do make for nice experiments, because you can compare them and see how the procedures give different results.
