Hippo grazing alongside the Chobe river in Botswana, for Filicity My friend Hippo, in principal a very dangerous animal, is enjoying looking for food alongside the Chobe river in Botswana. We have been told that it is rather rare that he / she is looking for food outside the water during day time!! Photo taken from a little “safari” boat. (Hippo’s are a lot more dangerous as crocodiles, they are responsible for quite a few killings!!). We were at about 15 meter distance from this animal and even closer to the croc from my yesterdays posting) The Chobe National Park is in the north of Botswana, and famous for its elephants, but in the river (also onshore) you find a lot of crocodiles and hippo’s!!! We made in May 2011 a trip through the southern part of Africa ( RSA, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) . thank you so much :) for this wonderful photo!!it's hard to catch a shot from a Hippo and yes i think it's dangerous too !! but i like this animals!! excellent capture of this !!!
