Description

I know, I know - another cold, industrial looking scene with crappy weather. What can I say? I had some free time and started playing around with Vue this morning and it just kind of took shape. Maybe I secretly wish I was back home in Seattle? Yeah, doubtful, but I do rather like my sci-fi scenes to be dreary, so enjoy it for what it is and try not to get too depressed :) Thanks for looking!

That is really cool, reminds me of aspects of Blade Runner or some such adventure. I personally think the dreary weather/industrial scene looks awesome!

Excellent image, as always! Since we share the desert heat... I also relate to the dreariness. I spend more time deconstructing your images than you do making them... I'm thinking. Regards!

Big, bad Monsanto strikes again, eh? This scene is epic in scale. Simply breathtaking. Your work is consistently outstanding. The modeling and texturing are spot-on, the use of scale and depth create a palpable sense of enormity, and the atmosphere is appropriately ominous and foreboding. What else can one say?

I think thats the problem with my Scifi scenes... I cant get the dreariness. I have a dystopian world set in the 28th century that i cant illustrate, And then i see your artwork and am absolutely in awe of what you do. Keep up the work.. Its inspirational!!!!

oddly, it's sunny and warm in seattle right now, so bring on the dreariness! another fantastic piece!

This is really wonderful, I just watched Blade Runner again and this place would be right at home there.

Um, and what's wrong with Seattle? I love Seattle weather! Seriously, you are the best at this sort of image, and this is a good example of why. Layers of detail in a plausible scene with realistic weather. Nothing cookie-cutter about this work. It draws the viewer in with an amazing sense of realism. Bravo!

But you always deliver a place that we can visit for some amount of time. By whatever amount of patience you put in there is enough detail to keep us busy exploring the scene and playing our game of choice. What elements did he use? I see Tie fighters, Bonus Dystopia, Greeble Highway. The list is long. How would it look in the real world? You take on some hard questions that would be challenging for anyone to make convincing, like what do flames look like when its pouring down rain. What is small but exceptional? The row of cyan road markers could have been perfectly aligned by the computer but by throwing them out of alignment makes it look much more natural. What element is my favorite? Not surprising, the focus of the shot is my favorite as I don't recognize the truck element and its cool. So many ways one can look around, ask questions and wonder, Is this really what Seattle is like? ; )
