This is a little something that I worked on this afternoon. Here we see a couple of drows along with a human, out on a hunting excursion. ========== There is a difference in the skin textures between the two Drows. Both have a normal map applied to them. However, the one standing has a clay node attached to the Alternate Diffuse of the model surface. The Drow crouched, has a subsurface scattering applied to the model surface. Can you see this difference? The crouched Drow handles the lighting better, see how there are light and dark areas on his skin? The subsurface scattering effect has the appearance of real skin. The Drow standing handles the light, but it is an even displacement.
