Description
A power utility box of some sort, captured 12/11/10, early on an overcast morning, within trekking distance of my lachrymose lodging.
A ZOOM would add to your viewing enjoyment.
The initial cracking of the paint, prior to the actual full blown peeling process itself.

I'm just getting over a little cold, and this pic is how I look right now. Another fine shot of decay, making it a study in visual abstraction. Andrea mentioned 3-way nodes: I have no idea what that is but it sounds electrical, so I'm sure it's accurate. Shots like this make me think not so much that paint will crack this way to begin with, but that it still stays on the metal, it still adheres. In the zoom, we see how many pieces have curled up; and I wonder how they stay on at all. Anyway, like I've said in this gallery & in mine, you're a photographer who understands that the picture isn't just in the distant dramatic vista or long-sought sight, but in things right under our noses. You're always searching your living area for its endless forms of expression, one of the things that distinguishes your gallery. And btw, two people mentioned a new avatar: Either they haven't seen this one yet, or you changed it & changed it back, 'cause this looks like the one I've seen for a while. (Have I been that ill, lol? Maybe there are regional variations---ie, maybe chicago hasn't caught up to your new avatar yet. You've had this for at least several weeks, I think.) It's funny, too, how parts of this box are mostly smooth. The cracks really do form in colonies...

Yeah, I DO like cracked paint LOL Something about it. I have a garden shed SUPPOSEDLY in DESPERATE need of sanding and repainting, but I like it .. just the way it is :P
