Description
Discipline and courage are two of the most important traits a magic-user can possess. Years of study are required to call upon the arcane powers of the universe. The courage to face horrors summoned from distant planes is also a requirement. Mara has stood by her master without flinching, as he negociated with dragons to do his bidding. More than once she has been brought back from the brink of death, having refused to leave his side during times of mortal danger. In return her master has named Mara his apprentice. All that he has achieved and all he has learned, he will pass on to her before his time is at an end. Being that he is human, he knows Mara will live many centuries after he has passed. His pride in her is absolute. There could be no better recipient of his bounty. Few realize her potential as well as he. The great, great, great grandchildren of her human friends will grow old and die long before Mara, or her sister Shandara, even start to show signs of aging. Only Silvara, their silver dragon friend will likely outlive the twins. And through it all, Mara will have her magic.

I think this is perhaps your best image ever, my friend! The composition and the lighting are perfect, and it conveys the isolation and loneliness of the Mage in her study. Brilliant work. I think Mara is my new favorite character. Bravo!

You're right. lots and lots to see. Lighting is a beautiful rich colour that sets the mood. Would have liked to have seen a shadow map on the candle to seperate some nice light and dark spots. Not critising :) Excellent work as it stands. :)))))))A+++++
