Description

DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF ALFRED BARMORE MACLAY OF NEW YORK WHO DESIGNED DEVELOPED AND LOVED KILLEARN GARDENS GIVEN BY HIS FAMILY TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA 1955 This is on the west wall of the Walled Garden. Killearn Gardens was later renamed Maclay Gardens. Killearn, Scotland was where Alfred Maclay grew up before coming to the U.S. as a young man. Hope you all enjoy and please zoo. This is the main reason i enjoy this site. Beautiful images of thing's being presented that i would normally have walked past with having any interest in them whatsoever. A lovely place to come and remember the founder. It must certainly be a very special place to come and visit for the Maclay family. I've never been here, but it seems like a most peaceful place... one where would be great to come and retreat when the day begs of reflection, or just a simple " moment of peace and quiet ". Beautiful tones of green... both light and dark make for a great composition, Kim! Beautifully composed!
