Description

The Northern part of Namibia is a very long and narrow strip which has a border on the south part with Botswana, but on the northern part from east to west, first a border with Zambia followed by Angola. This hundreds of kilometers (450 km) long strip is called the Caprivi strip; it is only less than 10 years safe to travel by yourself in this area, due to civil wars and bilateral conflicts etc in this area is was not safe, or foreigners were not permitted. There are a lot of very small villages in this area, it’s the most productive area for agriculture in Namibia, there is a lot of water and very good soil and a lot of sunshine. This Baobab was a landmark for the little village. We made in May / June 2011 a trip through the southern part of Africa ( RSA, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) .
