Description

As I mentioned in my description of "Solomani Family Portrait," my GM friend, Donovan Morningfire, decided to have the younger of the Solomanis' daughters, Marasiah--called Mara--appear again later on in his Star Wars RPG campaign. So he asked for a picture. Mara, 18, was a surprise baby, born when Dantris & Z'Rissa Solomani's older daughter, Cinowyn (a starfighter pilot & Tristin's mom), was almost grown. Mara is not at all like her big sister the hotshot wing commander; she will probably be a courtier all her life. It wouldn't surprise me if she has been mistaken for a visiting Princess. In looks Mara favors her father Dantris Solomani, with darker coloring & green eyes, rather than the red/blonde streaked hair of her mother's line. This first of 2 pictures of Lady Mara, depicts her as the player characters first see her--when they assume she's just another " idle rich girl." In the game session, she was attending the ball mentioned in "Solomani Family Portrait." Here, she & 2 girlfriends (the 1 in white I call Alyce, the other is Liane), having a gab session. But Marasiah Solomani is not just some ditzy highborn girl. Donovan told me that his players were surprised by her: she was the agent they were supposed to contact as their second goal, & she wasn't totally helpless in a fight. Mara contributed a well-deserved (& very well-placed) kick when the players were rescuing her & her little nephew Tristin from the Senator & Intelligence officer that had kidnapped them. I took the opportunity to give a workout to Vicky 3, who plays all 3 young noblewomen. I really wanted to try out some V3 textures & characters. I've had London for a while, but I just downloaded Lilo & the V3 Drow from Renderosity. I highly recommend both free sets. Spacer_01 gave me some basic tips on render sizes & shaders that made a big difference. He also spent a lot of time last night helping me to troubleshoot & resolve some issues I was having with the London MATs. Thank you, Spacer! Alyce still has some flaws--mainly because I kept the bodypaint texture I used for most of the model's costume, in spite of the difference in shades between the London body MAT and the flesh part of the bodypaint MAT. However, for the piece's intended purpose--a GM visual aid--it's already more than sufficient. I also provided Donovan with individual portraits--made by removing most everything but 1 model from the scene & reposing--so he has some other comely ladies when his game requires. And I can use the Marasiah character for another project. Only postwork is signature.
