Description
Notice the tall Stela in front of the pyramid. (Stela are messages stones that have carving on all sides with glyphs - pictographic writing like in Egypt) These are very worn because of the heavy rain fall year after year in the region where Calakmul is located.

What a beautiful spot...and what HISTORY! How many thousands of feet have walked the very path that you did? How many have looked at the same stones... Very nice shot!!!
