Description
The heat continues to bedevil the Sicilian days! It continues to go to the seaside, on this time the water is really wonderful, warm and inviting without too much clutter!
I've already inserted some photos of the Garitta in Santa Tecla, a small village overlooking the sea where I spent the summer with my grandsons, but never in the foreground!
It's a lookout tower overlooking the sea, built in the sixteenth century due to a few raids of Turkish pirates.
The small fortified building is located on a picturesque outcrop of lava rock. The Garitta has a quadrangular plan and a large masonry in mortar and lava stone. The roof of the building is four slopes. For each cardinal point are rectangular slits.
Have a good weekend! :)
